Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme foundation celebrates Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme for the first time

Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme foundation celebrated the birth of former African National Congress activist the late Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme for the first time yesterday on the 1st of October 2022 at kwaMashu Hall L section.
One of the important guest speakers Sifiso Seme grandchild to Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme articulated on the importance of celebrating the life of Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme.
“Seme was the second black person to be a lawyer in South Africa and he was the one who came up with an idea of creating this organisation for black people. In 1912 January 08 they called ‘Imbizo’ for the whole South Africa in Mangaung to discuss the formation of this organisation,” he mentioned.
Seme also mentioned that Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme was elected as the first president of the organisation but he refused to accept the presidential seat.
“he was nominated for the presidency seat after the creation of the organisation but he refused four consecutive terms and therefore was the 5th president, that is why we must celebrate people like him,” he said.
Mfanafuthi Nxele one of the Seme family member introduced the important guest from the royal family of kwesakwaMthethwa in Mpangeni.
“We are joined by an important person a messenger from the Mthethwa Royal family in eMpangeni, Mr Phila he has been sent to gather along with his family to listen and represent the Mthethwa family,” Nxele mentioned.
The Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme foundation gave special thanks to the eThekwini Municipality for making this celebration a success.
“This is the first celebration to be sponsored by the municipality and we really appreciate their support as we look forward to more successful programs. We also pass our deepest gratitude to Mr Buthelezi and the ANC secretary for their contribution in making this program a success,” the foundation said.
