“We demand inclusivity, in the institutions of higher learning” -LGBTQ+ students

Ntokozo Msimango the house committee chairperson at four Seasons and the organizer of this program said they engaged on the issues that the LGBTQ+ students are facing in the institution of higher learning. “The students under the LGBTQ+ community as they were in celebration of pride month. We engaged around common issues the community face and we all came in conclusion that the most common factor is exclusion. There is not even a single thing that says or that acknowledges that there is this community in the varsity. From the bathrooms not even a single sign of inclusion,” said Msimango. Ngonyameni residents protest demanding electricity

 STHEMBILE NDLOVU   Disgruntled eNgonyameni residents, South of Durban on Sunday blocked the bridge with burning tyres demanding water and electricity.   The residents had been without electricity since Tuesday, the  protest began at around 5.00 AM.   Ward 100 PR councillor, Menziwa Madlala, said that the affected community members were from ward 100 not only Ngonyameni but the whole ward. He said that the electricity problem was caused by the recent KZN floods the transformer was destroyed by the floods, but the eThekwini Municipality and Eskom are working to fix it.   “eThekwini Municipality was made aware of this, and Eskom officials are on site working to fix the electricity transformer which supply the whole of eNgonyameni. This was due to a natural disaster that Kwa-Zulu Natal province has recently encountered, we can assure the community that the power issue will be fixed before the end of the working week,” he said.   O...
